With its slogan "Students for new Society" KSNG advocates education and community development, social justice, human rights, and political awareness for the Karen people while at the same time serves to prepare Karen students and youths with a broader and better political leadership for new Karen generation.
Two assemblies per year are held in different camps. The purposes of the assembly are to evaluation of the group activities, strategy planning section and fellowship for the participants. Moreover, by assemblies, students from various camps get to meet together and provide each other with their experiences and the situations of their camps, as it is difficult to visit other camps.
