A group of students from the University of Hong Kong visited KSNG MaeSot office several days ago. They came here both with the curiosity to know more about Karen and the wish to help.

In discussion session, Saw Shar Nay Thaw and other members talked about KSNG's activities, achievements and difficulties while working in camps and IDPs areas. They were all very much impressed and showed particular interest in the radio programme.

Led by Eugene (KSNG's communicator of Mae La camp), Hong Kong students also visited Mae La Camp. They met with KSNG-Mae La group and explored the its radio station. "Radio is probably the most effective and recreational way of receiving updated and practical information for refugees stuck in camps." Said one of the girls.

Later, they went to LMTC and had a very good time with students there. After ice-breaking games, discussion on various topics were conducted in a thought-provoking manner. Problems included Is it proper to build up industry zones in Karen state in the transition period? How do you (LMTC students) see foreigner journalists and NGO workers pouring into the camp?

Everyone from both sides learned a lot through this trip.
